Increasingly more people are seeking homebirth due to the fact that they desire a more intimate and respectful birthing experience with trained birth professionals such as midwives. Homebirth is safe, empowering, can be more comfortable and supported, as well providing the opportunity for more family involvement.
Experiences have clearly shown that an approach which ‘de-medicalizes’ birth, restores dignity and humanity to the process of childbirth, and returns control to the mother is also the safest approach. – Michele Odent
